Vivekananda Pathatirtha : The School
In 27th April, 1998, a completely free Pre-Primary and Primary School (from Shishu (Nursery) to Class IV) was started in a temporary shed with only 34 children. Gradually, the roll strength of the school increased and a building was constructed for Vivekananda Pathatirtha. At present, it is a four storied building where other educational activities are also conducted. There are at present 275 students on the roll (Shishu to Class V).
Vivekananda Pathatirtha runs five days a week from 7.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The medium of instruction is Bengali and English is also taught from
Pre-primary classes. The school has achieved affiliation (without aid) from the School Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal. Beside the sannyasinis, there are 8 paid teachers and 1 voluntary teacher to run the school. The students are also provided with the following facilities free of cost –

- Text Books, Exercise books and other study materials;

- Uniforms, Sweaters for winter;

- Daily nutritious tiffin (milk, fruits, biscuits, cakes etc.). Occasionally cooked tiffin are also served;

- Clothes during the Durga Pujas;

- Yearly Medical checkup and medical help through our Charitable Dispensary;

- Prizes to encourage the students in studies and other activities.

Other than school courses, Annual sports, Independence Day, Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti, Saraswati Puja etc. are observed by the school students.
