The Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, since its inception in May, 1960, has expanded its activities all over India and abroad, serving the poor and the suffering, mainly women and children, in all possible ways.

With this end in view, in 1994-95 the authorities of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission accepted a gift of nearly 3 bighas of land at Siriti, Kolkata, from a devoted family. The land was low, unprotected and a lot of development was required before any construction could be taken up.

The land was gradually raised, boundary wall was erected. On 19th November, 1996 the foundation stones for a Primary School was laid by Most Revered Pravrajika Mokshaprana Mataji, the second President of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission.  On the 17th March,1998, Revered President Mataji inaugurated the Centre. On 1st April, 1998, the centre was made a formal branch of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Dakshineswar. Pravrajika Vimuktaprana was send by Head Quarters as the first Secretary.
